About Me
Chris Rudyard MBACP
I am a professionally qualified counsellor in Liverpool, and a member of the 'British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy' (MBACP/BACP), working to their ethical framework.
I started my counsellor training in 2003 aged 25 at South Trafford College. I continued my training at PCCS (Person Centred Counselling Services) Training Partnership in Manchester which adhered to the philosophy of Carl Rogers' Person Centred Approach. I have also undergone further training at Temenos in Sheffield in Person Centred & CBT approaches. This gives me a strong theoretical model to work from whilst remaining flexible to suit your needs. I am very interested in the Person Centred model and existentialism.
I have experience working as a counsellor for a PCT(NHS), Macmillan, Relate, Schools, Samaritans (as a listener in 2002-2004) and other charities across the North West.
I have presented training on mental health to charity organisations and schools.
I also have experience working with adults, young people & children who's behaviours would be labelled as 'challenging' and have a history of abuse & neglect.
I have previously monitored and measured my work over 6 months, using CORE evaluation tool (I admit this is somewhat a crude method) with lots of clients, my work was shown to be effective having a positive impact.
I have a keen interest in people, music & film. I enjoy the variety of people I see, and see the 'uniqueness' in every person and their experience.
