Fees in Liverpool

Sessions start from £105 for [50] minutes, in person at my private practice in Garston, south Liverpool, or online.

What my fee reflects

I'm an accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with over 22 years' experience, and my practice has been audited and passed by the BACP. I'm trained in trauma-focused approaches including: AEDP, DBR, EMDR, Internal Family Systems and Brainspotting, and more too.

Counselling is largely unregulated, so therapists can charge what they choose, and fees don't always reflect training or experience. Most newly qualified therapists with a master's degree charge around £50-£70 per hour. I believe my fees are fair for my level of experience. You can read more about my qualifications.

In-person sessions in Garston, Liverpool

I see clients at Mersey House, Speke Road, Garston, Liverpool L19 2PH. There's free on-site parking, and the bus stop is a two-minute walk away. Liverpool South Parkway train station is about 15 minutes' walk.

Online sessions

I also offer online therapy for clients in Liverpool and beyond, these are the same fee.

How to pay

I accept card payments and Google Pay. If we haven't met before, payment for your first appointment is needed in advance. If you'd like to pay cash in person, please email me first to arrange it.

Who I work with

I take self-referrals only, which means I don't accept third-party referrals. I no longer take referrals for social work or medico-legal work.

Cancellation policy

Missed appointments, or cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice, are charged in full.

I charge for these appointments because the time is reserved for you and can't be filled at short notice. A session also involves preparation, supervision, admin and reflection beyond the hour itself. I also do value my personal time, so if I allocated you time, it stops me from planning something in my personal life.

Fee reviews

I review my fees each October and April to reflect the rising costs of running a practice and inflation. Where possible, I'll give you one month's notice of any change.
