Counselling & Psychotherapy Testimonials: Liverpool
Here are some words from people I've worked with at my private practice in Garston, Liverpool, and online.
"If I am totally honest I was not convinced that counselling would help me as I am not in my comfort zone talking about myself, I could not of been more wrong... It became very apparent that my fears were daft!! I was worried that I would be judged, but you were totally non-judgmental and made me feel safe in disclosing things very personal to me." A client
"Counselling has transformed my existence, and it doesn't bear thinking about how I would of been without it, and I shall always be grateful." A client
"I have never had a male counsellor before. I was a bit worried, but I found Chris very easy to talk to, and he helped me a lot with my issues with men, thanks very much Chris." A client
I've included three testimonials from over 20 years of practice. Most clients prefer not to put their name to a review for confidentiality reasons, and ethically a therapist shouldn't ask for one, so I don't. A client
Choosing a therapist
One person's experience will always differ from another's, because we all like and dislike different things. So I'd encourage you not to choose a counsellor on testimonials alone. Look at their training and experience, and go with the therapist whose "sound" feels right to you. A good bedside manner doesn't make someone a good doctor, and it works the same way with therapists. You can read more about how to judge reviews and perceptions of counselling.
