Life Coaching
What is Coaching?
Coaching helps you to identify goals, blocks, and what steps you need to make you achieve. It is a way of finding solutions in a collaborative, non-judgemental relationship, its' function is to help you find your own answers, without being given solutions.
What might you benefit from coaching?
Coaching sessions can stop things from falling by the wayside, keeping you on track, and motivated towards bettering yourself.
It can be used for life problems when you don't necessarily want to go into historical issues so much. It is also a great learning tool for those in any kind of business.
Coaching will not focus on too much on the past or emotional concerns, rather it is about action, motivation, and achieving.
Just like a sports coach or personal trainer, I will challenge you to help you set, and achieve your goals. All this is done in the safety of a confidential, respectful yet challenging relationship, where you and your ambitions are the most important focus.
What kind of issue do people work on in coaching?
I have helped people to work on:
Who might benefit from coaching?
How do I work?
I use a combination of Solution-Focused, and NLP techniques to help my clients whether it is a personal or professional matter. I am also challenging as a coach, and won't take tedious excuses. These techniques are designed to help you think creatively and get past blocks that are keeping you where you are.
Solution Focussed technique is a way of eliciting creativity, and solutions from the person rather than being told what to do. It is an empowering model of therapy.
NLP means Neuro-Linguistic Programming, it helps with how we think about things. How we think about others, ourselves and situations impacts on outcome.
I usually work in blocks of 3 sessions - Weekly or fortnightly to suit. You may require further sessions to help you continue with your development.
Sessions can be face to face in person. If you are further afield then sessions can be arranged to take place via Facetime, Skype, or Vsee. I am based in the UK, so please be aware of any time differences.
Why see me?
Many therapists that call themselves 'coaches and life coaches' are not actually trained in coaching, and may just use this label.
Coaching is very different than counselling and psychotherapy. I have completed training in NLP Coaching at Central College England - Birmingham.
As well as NLP training, I have completed specific certified training in Supervision (endorsed by The British Psychological Society).
