Why counselling for Liverpool?
1) I I work in person and online, if you move away from Liverpool, or travel around, you can still work with me online.
2) My office is a 'away from it all', a place for you to come and sit, and be the real you.
3) No notes will go onto your medical, or social services records.
4) There are usually no restricted number of sessions – it is up to you and I (more you, though)
5) A clean and comfortable room to be in
6) Counselling For Liverpool is a truly independent, non-corporate service, and not affiliated with any other businesses, counselling organisations, statuary services e.g. social services etc.
7) As an independent service, and independent practitioner, this creates a number of benefits Inc. you only need to deal with me - start to finish, tighter confidentiality. No information is passed around other therapists, managers, supervisors and/or admin staff. You won't bump into your last therapist in the corridor..
8) I am fully qualified, trained in more than one approach (Person Centred or CBT are the main therapies most therapists are trained in). In addition, I'm trained in many other approaches including: AEDP, Brainspotting therapy, Deep Brain Reorientating, EMDR, Eye Movement Integration, IFS-Internal Family Systems Therapy, Lifespan Integration, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy – these are not all available through the NHS or many other local organisations. This means that I'm more flexible and can help you on a much deeper level - see my experience and training
9) In the NHS and charities you are usually restricted by the number of sessions you are allowed, and put into the organization's monthly targets (how do I know this? - I've worked for them). You may be referred to 'group therapy' or an online self-help style computer programme - these are often employed as a cost-cutting exercises to save money for the company.
10) Good quality tissues are always available - if you see me online, you'll have to use your own…
